Inky Blue Allusions is a free site but we do appreciate the hard work that writers put into their work.  While we can not pay for all of the stories that are sent to us we would like to start including some longer stories.  So, some revisions to our submissions page!

We will continue to include shorter stories with lengths of 500 to 1500 words.  We do not pay for these stories; however, you are welcome to include a link to your website, blog, or other presence on the internet.  This can be a great way to promote your site or a service you may offer.  For instance, if you have a site that earns money with affiliate sales for companies like lingerie or sex toys you can submit a story that focuses on these aspects.  With this story you can include a link to your main site at the bottom of the story AND you can include up to two links in the text with your affiliate link in them.

Stories of 2000 words or more will be paid a $20 honorarium (through paypal).  We will buy up to 5 of these stories per month.  If your story is more than 5000 words we will consider it for a serial story $50 will be paid up to the first 15,000 words (no less than 7,500 words please) and stories over 15,000 words will be paid $75.  Stories must be complete at the time of submission.  Please do not send ideas for stories!

When submitting please put “story submission - (theme)” in the subject line (feel free to create a new theme if your theme doesn’t exist).  Please include your story as an attachment.

We will not publish any material that includes bestiality, extreme violence, incest, or sex with minors.

Publishing Rights

All rights remain with the author for short stories that are less than 1500 words. Your story will remain on the site until you request that it be removed. You can publish your story anywhere else you like such as on blogs, on other story sites, etc.

Stories that are paid for will remain on the site for a minimum of one year.  During that time we will ask that you do not submit it anywhere else or publish it anywhere else, including your own site or blog.  After one year, you can request that it be removed if you are submitting elsewhere and it is part of the submission process.  Otherwise it will stay up indefinitely.

New writers are encouraged to submit. If you have a fresh and unique story we will happily work with you until the story is up to our expectations.

Yes - We do have Guidelines! Please read them carefully before you submit!

1. Layout is important! Each story submitted should be single spaced with paragraph indentations and an empty line in between each paragraph.
2. Font – I would prefer that everyone use a 12 point Verdana font as this is what is used on the site. The less formatting I need to the better.
3. Use your spell check. But don’t stop there. You need to read your story over as well to look for commonly misspelled words that are still in the dictionary (like their/they’re/there).
4. Grammar and punctuation. This site is supposed to be of a higher quality of writing than other sites. Part of that is grammar. As a reader of erotica, nothing drives me crazier than blatantly bad grammar. For example, comma splices glare at me. If I come upon more than one of those in a story, I’m distracted beyond the ability to truly enjoy this. I believe this is mostly a women’s thing and since this site is marketed as a site for women and couples, this is very important. If your grammar needs brushing up or you’re not sure about grammatical points check out the Erotica Readers and Writers Association Links. In fact, read as much of this site as you possibly can. This is the BEST resource for erotic writers to be found on the web.
